Impact Behavioral Health Partners, a mental-health agency located in Evanston, seeks an experienced Employment Specialist to assist our clients to obtain and maintain competitive employment. We are looking for a highly organized professional with knowledge of supported employment field with a demonstrated track record of success. Salary: $37,000

Benefits: This position comes with a full benefit package.

Location: In the office and out in the community

Schedule: Full time position

Job Responsibilities:

  • Achieve successful employment outcomes for a caseload of 20 individuals

  • Manage referral relationships with partner agencies

  • Assess vocational functioning and make updates on an ongoing basis

  • Develop job leads and assist with job searches

  • Provide individualized, time unlimited follow along services

  • Educate and support employers, as permitted by the client

  • Report and collaborate with treatment teams and service funders

  • Be in the field 75% of the time to engage and support clients, family, funders and employers.


Education and experience equivalent to undergraduate degree in mental health, social services, or business. Experience working with people with serious mental illness, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred. Ability to demonstrate a successful track record of employment outcomes for clients. Must be an effective communicator, problem solver, collaborator, and highly organized.

Essential Skills and Education/Experience:

  • Bilingual a plus

  • Experience with DRS and/or Medicaid rule 132 billing a plus

  • Must be able to cold call employers

  • Must have “service first” mindset

  • Team Player, Assertive, Effective Communicator

  • B.A. in human services, marketing or related field

  • Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and have regular access to reliable transportation

All of our programs and services are integrated to ensure our clients receive the support they need to recover and attain wellness and reclaim his or her life in the community. We serve individuals through our Community Care, Supportive Housing, and Individual Placement & Support (IPS) Programs.
